    Affinity Health Plan is proudly headquartered in the Bronx, one of New York City’s most storied and vital boroughs. Below you will find helpful information for those visiting our workplace, along with details about some of the worthwhile things you can find and do nearby. We also have Community Service Centers (CSC) throughout the New York metropolitan area where you can find more information and ask questions about our managed care programs.

    Getting here

    Affinity’s headquarters in the Bronx is convenient to New York City and suburban New York including Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, Connecticut and New Jersey. We are located in a modern office complex just off Westchester Square, a bustling, diverse crossroads where places abound for lunch and shopping. Affinity is just a few minutes’ drive from the Whitestone and Throgs’ Neck Bridges to the south, with ready access from major travel routes including the Hutchinson River Parkway and the Bruckner and Cross Bronx Expressway. A secure, monitored lot provides ample, off-street parking.

    Amenities

    For dining, the office features several relaxed and inviting spaces. Reduced-price memberships are available at Star Fitness, located across the street. New York Sports Club also has a nearby location.

    Public Transit and Driving Routes

    The area is also served by high-quality public transit services including the Pelham Bay Park branch of the Lexington Avenue subway line (4, 5 and 6 trains); and MTA buses, including express service from Manhattan and Flushing (a more direct route for Queens commuters than traveling to Manhattan).

    Getting There
    The Hutchinson Metro Center is proud to deliver a robust campus transportation system. With the use of Courtesy Shuttles to the Westchester Square Station, visitors have access to the #6 subway with service to Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. The HMC shuttle runs from 7AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, operating on a continuous loop (approximately every 20 minutes). The shuttle is fully equipped and provides service to persons with disabilities.

    Public Transportation
    Subway Service:

    • The #6 Subway line located at Westchester Square is the main transportation crossroads servicing the East side of the Bronx. The #6 train has express service to Lexington Avenue during peak commuting hours.
    • During non-peak hours, the #6 runs as a local. The Westchester Square Station is only a half mile from the HMC campus entrance. The Westchester Square Station connects numerous bus lines including; BX4, BX4A, BX8, BX21, BX31, BX40, BX42 and BX24. Additionally, the #6 Subway stops at Middletown Road with direct access to HMC via the BX24 bus.

    Direct Public Bus Service:
    Six new bus stations have been added to the HMC campus. They have direct service for the BX24 route servicing Westchester Square and the Country Club area of the Bronx. Additional Public Bus Services:

    • The HMC also has access to the BX21, BX31, BXM10 and BX12 within steps of the Atrium entrance.
    • The BX21 and BX31 bus stops are just steps from the Atrium entrance on Bassett Avenue.
    • The BX21 line services all points Southern points including Westchester Square Station, Morris Park, Van Nest, West Farms, Melrose and Mott Haven.
    • The BX31 line services all points North including Westchester Square Station, Morris Park, Pelham Parkway, Williamsbridge, Wakefield and Woodlawn.
    • The BXM10 Express Bus service line is just a short walk from the Atrium with express service to Manhattan. It is on the corner of Morris Park Avenue and Eastchester Road.

    Area Attractions

    Affinity’s setting is industrial/residential, and filled with surprising features. A block away, a handsome 19th-century library houses the city’s premier collection of Bronx historical information. Just under the nearby Whitestone Bridge, Ferry Point Park affords an excellent view of the Manhattan skyline.

    In fact, within the immediate neighborhood, and extending throughout the Bronx, you will find a rich variety of cultural, dining and recreational opportunities. Along with popular destinations such as the Bronx Zoo, Van Cortlandt Park and City Island are many lesser-known points of interest. The Bronx is also home to esteemed public and private universities including Fordham Unversity, Hostos Community College and Lehman College (CUNY), Maritime College (SUNY), Mercy College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The area has many highlights, including both familiar attractions and hidden gems.
