• Free WIFI, Internet and Data Services Available

  • Affinity Health Plan knows that New Yorkers have been impacted by the coronavirus public health crisis in various ways. That is why we want to provide you with as many resources as possible to help you navigate through these difficult times. The following is a list of cellphone and data services being made available to you, free of charge, during the COVID-19 state of emergency.  

    Free WIFI/Internet:

    Spectrum and Comcast are giving households with K-12 and college students, and those who qualify as low-income, complimentary WIFI for 60 days. Families who currently do not have these services will also receive free installation. Both companies are also expanding WIFI hotspots to the public.

    Call Spectrum at 844.488.8395 or Comcast at 855.846.8376 to enroll. Individuals must call the company after 60 days to update status, or they will be automatically billed.

    Unlimited Data:

    Charter, Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon are offering unlimited data plans to customers for no additional charge.

    SafeLink Wireless:

    Get free access to Lifeline, the federal government’s discount telecommunications service. Subscribers can get up to 350 minutes and 3GB of free cell phone service, which includes voice minutes and unlimited texts, voicemail, nationwide coverage and 4G LTE on compatible devices. To qualify for the program, subscribers must either have an income that is at or below 135% of the 2020 Federal Poverty Guidelines, or participate in one of the following assistance programs:

    • Medicaid
    • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Food Stamps
    • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
    • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
    • Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit

    Service is limited to one person per household. Call 800.SafeLink (800.723.3546) for enrollment and plan support. Subscribers can use their own phones. SafeLink Keep Your Own Smartphone plan requires a compatible or unlocked smartphone. Most GSM smartphones are compatible.
